Anouk van Zwieten — Exploration of mural painting techniques
Painter Anouk van Zwieten explores how colour, form, and space interact. In her semi-abstract work, technique and form come together, with motifs recurring and continuing to develop. In recent years, she has expanded her practice from paintings on canvas to work in the public realm. She has realised projects such as What I Stand On (commissioned by the municipality of Amersfoort) and Here and There, which was presented on the façade of Paradiso in Amsterdam. Anouk aims to further explore how her work can relate to architecture. With support from Stichting Stokroos, she is deepening her knowledge of mural painting techniques and the use of sustainable materials, such as fresco and mineral pigments. In her studio, she experiments with surfaces and methods to translate her painting practice into large-scale, site-specific murals that engage in dialogue with their surroundings.
